BEYOND WINE TOURS

Versa: Oltrepò bubbles.
Over the years this region has distinguished itself for the high leves of complexity and balance it lends to traditional method sparkling wines from Pinot Nero grapes.
It reached its heights of production in the 1980s and 1990s, leading production at a national level.
This result was the crowning achievement for those who, right from the start of the century, had been striving for a truly Italian traditional method sparkling wine.
The Versa Valley, thanks to the direct influence of the northerly mountain breezes, has an ideal climate for the cultivation of Pinot Nero.
Large temperature drops, hot summers and mild winters bring the grapes to just the right degree of ripeness, with lime- and clay-rich soils as allies.
The countryside offers breath-taking views, with exclusive hillside villages and, at the end of the valley, a surviving defensive tower
from the middle ages.
An open, rolling and harmonious valley, with picturesque roads and sports trails, makes this corner of Oltrepò even more fascinating.
