In the shadow of Montalto castle there live memories of an ancient ocean that bestowed upon us the white soils that are so much a feature of this part of the Oltrepò, from picturesque hamlets to vast panoramic ridges.

White soils rich in minerals. These soils are particularly suited to the cultivation of Renano Riesling.

Mention must be made of the areas of Calvignano, Oliva Gessi, Montalto, Mornico Losana, Casteggio and Rocca de’ Giorgi.
At the feet of the castles of Montalto and Mornico, the vineyards of this area benefit from the steep slopes and positive exposure to the sun, lending them intensity, a clean taste and an ample bouquet.

Thanks to the characteristics of the area and the lie of the land, a feature of the Riesling produced here is the balance between acidity, softness and alcohol level.
